Looking for a new Nanny position? Look no further
You have found a nanny position that you want, you interview for it, and they call you a day or two later to tell you that want to hire you as their nanny. Congratulations!!! Now is a perfect time to set in place a nanny work agreement. In fact, you may never get another opportunity and its always less akward to sort out the small print before starting. A trusted and good nanny agency will be able to help with this and also to supply an example nanny agreement. A Work Agreement states what the employer expects of you and the work that you agree to perform. Work Agreements can cover everything from your work schedule, days off, pay, benefits and other details – something that you both agreed to. What is also important to understand is that your work agreement is negotiable. For an example, you may need 1 extra day per month off for personal reasons – make your employer aware of this and agree to it. Or perhaps you want to have your employer provide the benefit of a membership to a very cool site for nannies (like this one), discuss it with your employer and see if it is agreeable. Remember, Work Agreements and negotiations is a process of give and take. An employer may ask you to be available every second friday night for babysitting. This may or may not be agreeable and if it isn’t instead of just saying no, why not find a solution to the issue by telling your employer that although you are not available, you will introduce one of your friends to the family who can babysit on one or both of the fridays. You have landed the job and are eager to begin but make sure you set up a Work Agreement with your employer – It will go a long way to minimize misunderstanding’s about the basics of your job and what you can expect from your employer.
